Topic 1 The European Green Deal

The European Green Deal is a comprehensive of policy initiatives aiming to define the pathways to green transition of EU with the overall goal to reach climate naturality by 2050. The European Green Deal aims  to accelerate the effective use of resources through clean, circular economy and react and to put an end to climate change, retrogress biodiversity loss and end pollution. To overcome these challenges ensures (1);

  • no net emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050
  • economic growth decoupled from resource use
  • no person and no place left behind

The European Green Deal highlights the further necessary investments, available finance measures and tools and clearly explains how to ensure inclusive transition. The framework includes all sectors especially transport, energy, agriculture, buildings, and industries including steel, cement, ICT, textiles and chemicals. Today in 2022, concrete proposals for sustainable products in the EU, boosting circular business models and customer empowerment for the green transition in EU is one of the priorities in this regard.
